Even though we will most likely not be able to predict who our forever true love will be, it is a good idea to take note of our expectations. Let’s start by making a list of the characteristics of that person. Then, let’s see whether or not we ourselves match this description. Could we be “the one” for ourselves? Would we want to be our own forever true love?
This list is a starting point to help us improve, to become more like the one that we are looking for, and so, like the one for a person like us who is looking for true love. We must make ourselves like “the one” that we would like to find.
Next, make a list of what is necessary to become this person – a list of what is necessary in order to improve yourself.
Improving implies learning, going out of your comfort zone, acknowledging your weaknesses, staying focused on making a habit of continually improving – making it second nature.
There are two types of learning: gaining knowledge and skill development. Both are important and interdependent. Knowledge helps us make better choices and skill gives us the ability to obtain what we choose. Choosing the best will make us the best.
We must choose the best people to be close to. We are going to learn a lot from them.
We won’t grow staying at home. There is a whole world out there that is so rich.
We must not go out unprepared. We need to think ahead about what could go wrong and how to overcome any difficulties.
The richness of the world is overwhelming and so, very distracting. To counteract this, we must remind ourselves of our goals.
To achieve our goals, the most valuable habit is patience – patience with ourselves and patience with others. When facing our own limitations and weaknesses, we must keep the power of our passionate drive in order to achieve our goals. Being patient is not an excuse to procrastinate or to be complacent. We must try to go beyond our limitations and accept where we are in every moment. We must also be prepared to accept the limitations of others and be patient with them.
Let go of your past, the people surrounding you, your possessions and yourself.
Underlying your engagements must always be a feeling of joy.
